“That every knee should bow”
Yet have I left me seven thousand.
Read 1 Kings 19:1-18
Elijah felt sorry for himself when he thought about all the prophets Ahab had killed. He thought he was the only one left, so he wanted to die. But God’s ways and thoughts are different than ours.
The Lord did not reveal Himself to His servant in a storm or through an earthquake, but in a still small voice, pointing us to the work of the Holy Spirit.
Despite Elijah’s fears, there were seven thousand in Israel that had not bowed their knees to Baal. This is also true in our days; the Lord has more faithful servants than we might think. More-over, through His almighty power, the Lord is able to renew people so that it becomes apparent that they are filled with the Holy Spirit. Do you pray for this? Let us not elevate ourselves above Elijah.
The Lord spoke through a still small voice. To what does this refer?
