Daniel
“He kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed…” —Daniel 6:10
Read Daniel 6:1-14
Daniel was very blessed and received one of the highest positions in the kingdom of Darius. But Daniel did not only experienced prosperity. As you know, he also ended up in the lions’ den. Though we may live a God-fearing life, we are not guaranteed a life free from trials.
Daniel prayed three times a day before an open window facing in the direction of Jerusalem, the location of the temple, where his God lived. Daily, in solitude, he confessed his sins before the Lord and poured out his heart to Him.
Do you also have quiet times in which you seek the Lord? Do you have a special place in your home where you pray to God? Or, is praying a burden to you? Worse still, have you stopped praying altogether? Then you are a very unhappy person who will not receive God’s blessing, for whosoever forsakes the Lord will experience many sorrows. But those that trust the Lord experience His goodness.
What does it mean to be subject to God?
